How to set VLC Media Player default program to open videos on a Windows machine.

Hey guys, we are going to see how to set a VLC Media Player as a default media player.

Method 1:

• Right-click any video, and Click the properties (Mostly this option is available on the last).
• Now you will get a property window.
• Click the “Open with” Change button.
• Now choose the “VLC Media Player”.
• That’s it guys, next time onwards if you click the video file, VLC media player will open.
• Many video formats are there. So, it won’t apply to all formats. Once you are done with .mp4. it won’t open for “.webm”. For webm you need to follow the same steps.
  

Method 2:

• Click Winkey(windows) button.
• In the search bar type “Default Apps”.
• Now click “Default Apps”.
• Now it will take you to the default programs apps page.
• Click the default video player, it will show the video players list that installed on your computer.
• Now choose the “VLC Media Player”.
